Content of the story:
1. There is a shepherd boy who tends his sheep in the mountain. The sheep spend all their time eating the grass calmly on the field. The boy does not have to do anything much, and soon he gets bored.
2. One day the boy thinks: “I will play a game for fun. I will pretend that there is a wolf attacking the sheep. Everybody will be frightened!” He thinks and then shouts out loud: “Wolf! Wolf! Somebody help me! A wolf is attacking my sheep!”
3. The villagers stop working and quickly rush to the mountain. They bring sticks,hoes, shovels to help the boy to dislodge the wolf. But when they come to the boy’s place, they can see that the sheep are still eating grasses and there is no wolf at all.
4. The boy laughs out loud as he can see many of the villagers rush to his place but find nothing. The villagers tell him: “Little boy! Don’t fool us! Don’t shout that there is wolf when there is no such thing! You are wasting our time!” Then they come back to their work with an angry mood.
5. Still the boy does not take any attention to the villagers’ words. The next day the boy continues his game and shouts: “Wolf! Wolf! Somebody help me! A wolf is attacking my sheep!”. The villagers are working on the field quickly abandon their work and run to the mountain.
6. Of course when they reach to the boy’s place the only thing they can see is that the boy is laughing very happily as he see that they are fooled again. There is no wolf at all.
7. Everybody tells the boy: “Little boy! Don’t fool us again! Don’t you know that you are wasting our time?” Then they come back to their work with very angry mood.
8. The next day, when the boy is watching the sheep, a wolf appears and starts to attack the sheep. The boy is so afraid and he shouts: “Wolf! Wolf! Somebody help me! A wolf is attacking my sheep!”.
9. Everyone can hear his voice but no one runs to his place anymore. They all think that the boy is telling lie again and trying to fool them. The wolf therefore can attack the sheep without any resistance.
10. At night the villagers still don’t see the boy come back home. They go to the mountain to see what happen with the boy. What they can see is the boy is crying and there are only several sheep left. The boy sobs: “There was a real wolf attacking the sheep. Why don’t you come here to help me?"
11. One farmer says: “You have lied to us twice. Now even when you tell the truth we can not believe you any more.This is a lesson for you. From now, don’t tell lie any more.”
12. The boy feels very sorry about this and he is so sad the he lied to everybody just for fun. This is the end of the story. After reading this story, please remember to tell the truth, don’t lie to the others.
